Optical fiber fault location method and apparatus

An optical fiber fault location apparatus, comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• one or more memories coupled to the at least one processor and storing programming instructions for execution by the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:
• determining a faulty logical fiber in a plurality of logical fibers based on fiber cut alarm information;
• determining a faulty optical fiber based on an optical fiber mapping relationship and the faulty logical fiber, and obtaining a fault physical location of a fault point in the faulty optical fiber based on ranging information, wherein
• the optical fiber mapping relationship comprises an association relationship between the plurality of logical fibers and a plurality of pre-buried optical fibers, wherein the faulty optical fiber is an optical fiber that is in the plurality of optical fibers and that is associated with the faulty logical fiber, and the ranging information indicates a relative location of the fault point in the faulty optical fiber;
• and
• outputting optical fiber fault information of an optical network, wherein the optical fiber fault information comprises at least one of the fault physical location and the faulty optical fiber.

A communication system, comprising a plurality of pre-buried optical fibers and a management device, wherein the management device is configured to:

• determine a faulty logical fiber in a plurality of logical fibers based on fiber cut alarm information;
• determine a faulty optical fiber based on an optical fiber mapping relationship and the faulty logical fiber, and obtain a fault physical location of a fault point in the faulty optical fiber based on ranging information, wherein the optical fiber mapping relationship comprises an association relationship between the plurality of logical fibers and the plurality of pre-buried optical fibers, wherein the faulty optical fiber is an optical fiber that is in the plurality of optical fibers and that is associated with the faulty logical fiber, and the ranging information indicates a relative location of the fault point in the faulty optical fiber;
• and
• output optical fiber fault information of an optical network, wherein the optical fiber fault information comprises at least one of the fault physical location or the faulty optical fiber.
