Spatial chat

A system comprising:

• a non-transitory computer-readable medium;
• and
• one or more processors communicatively coupled to the non-transitory computer-readable medium, the one or more processor configured to execute processor-executable instructions stored in the non-transitory computer-readable medium to cause the one or more processors to:
• display, by a client device, a graphical virtual background and a plurality of spatial chat rooms;
• display, by the client device, a plurality of graphical representations of participants within the graphical virtual background;
• receive, by the client device from a chat platform, a chat message associated with a chat channel maintained by the chat platform, the chat channel associated with a first spatial chat room of the plurality of spatial chat rooms;
• and
• display, by the client device, the one or more chat messages.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising processor-executable instructions configured to cause one or more processors to:

• display, by a client device, a graphical virtual background and a plurality of spatial chat rooms;
• display, by the client device, a plurality of graphical representations of participants within the graphical virtual background;
• receive, by the client device from a chat platform, a chat message associated with a chat channel maintained by the chat platform, the chat channel associated with a first spatial chat room of the plurality of spatial chat rooms;
• and
• display, by the client device, the one or more chat messages.
