Compounds and compositions and uses thereof

A compound of formula (I):

• or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof,
• wherein:
• Y is a direct bond;
• R1, R2, R3 and R4 are chosen independently from H, aliphatic (C1-C5) hydrocarbon and (C3-C6) cycloalkyl, wherein the aliphatic (C1-C5) hydrocarbon is optionally substituted with one or more of halogen, hydroxyl, (C1-C6) alkoxy, amino, (C1-C6)alkylamino and di(C1-C6)alkylamino;
• or, taken together, R1 and R2 may form (C3-C6) cycloalkyl;
• R9 and R10 are chosen independently from H, halogen, hydroxyl, (C1-C6)alkyl, (C1-C6) haloalkyl and (C1-C6)alkoxy;
• and
• R11, R12, R13, and R14 are chosen independently from H, halogen, hydroxyl, cyano, aliphatic (C1-C5) hydrocarbon, (C3-C6) cycloalkyl, (C1-C6) haloalkyl, (C1-C6) alkoxy, aminocarbonyl, (C1-C6)alkylaminocarbonyl, di(C1-C6)alkylaminocarbonyl, (C1-C6) acyl, (C1-C6)haloalkoxy, hydroxy (C1-C6)alkyl, carboxy, (C1-C6)alkoxycarbonyl, acetoxy, nitro, amino, (C1-C6)alkylamino, di(C1-C6)alkylamino, and aminosulfonyl;
• or, taken together, any adjacent pair of R11, R12, R13, and R14 may form a fused 1,3-dioxole, dihydro-1,4-dioxine, difluoro-1,3-dioxole, 2,3-dihydrofuran optionally mono- or bisubstituted with fluorine, or 2,5-dihydrofuran optionally mono- or bi-substituted with fluorine.

• Y is-C(R5R6) C(R7R8)—;
• R1, R2, R3 and R4 are chosen independently from H, aliphatic (C1-C5) hydrocarbon and (C3-C6) cycloalkyl, wherein the aliphatic (C1-C8) hydrocarbon is optionally substituted with one or more of halogen, hydroxyl, (C1-C6) alkoxy, amino, (C1-C6)alkylamino and di(C1-C6)alkylamino;
• or, taken together, R1 and R2 may form (C3-C6) cycloalkyl;
• R5 and R6 are chosen independently from H, fluorine, (C1-C6)alkyl and (C1-C6) haloalkyl;
• R7, R8, R9 and R10 are chosen independently from H, halogen, hydroxyl, (C1-C6)alkyl, (C1-C6) haloalkyl and (C1-C6)alkoxy;
• and
• R11, R12, R13, and R14 are chosen independently from H, halogen, hydroxyl, cyano, aliphatic (C1-C5) hydrocarbon, (C3-C6) cycloalkyl, (C1-C6) haloalkyl, (C1-C6) alkoxy, aminocarbonyl, (C1-C6)alkylaminocarbonyl, di(C1-C6)alkylaminocarbonyl, (C1-C6) acyl, (C1-C6)haloalkoxy, hydroxy (C1-C6)alkyl, carboxy, (C1-C6)alkoxycarbonyl, acetoxy, nitro, amino, (C1-C6)alkylamino, di(C1-C6)alkylamino, and aminosulfonyl;
