Abstract
Corresponding read frequencies of data stored at dies of a solid-state storage devices of a storage system are determined. A first set of dies having corresponding read frequencies above a first threshold and a second set of dies having corresponding read frequencies below a second threshold are identified. At least one of first data from the first set of dies or second data from the second set of dies are relocated, wherein the relocation causes the first set of dies to have subsequent corresponding read frequencies below the first threshold.
Claims20
A storage system comprising:
- a plurality of solid-state storage devices comprising a plurality of dies;
- and
- a storage controller comprising a processing device, operatively coupled to the plurality of solid-state storage devices, configured to:
- determine corresponding read frequencies of data stored at the plurality of dies;
- identify a first set of dies of the plurality of dies having corresponding read frequencies above a first threshold and a second set of dies of the plurality of dies having corresponding read frequencies below a second threshold;
- and
- relocate at least one of first data from the first set of dies or second data from the second set of dies, wherein the relocation causes the first set of dies to have subsequent corresponding read frequencies below the first threshold.
A method comprising:
- determining corresponding read frequencies of data stored at a plurality of dies of a plurality of solid-state storage devices of a storage system;
- identifying a first set of dies of the plurality of dies having corresponding read frequencies above a first threshold and a second set of dies of the plurality of dies having corresponding read frequencies below a second threshold;
- and
- relocating, by a processing device of a storage controller, at least one of first data from the first set of dies or second data from the second set of dies, wherein the relocation causes the first set of dies to have subsequent corresponding read frequencies below the first threshold.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a processing device to:
- determine corresponding read frequencies of data stored at a plurality of dies of a plurality of solid-state storage devices of a storage system;
- identify a first set of dies of the plurality of dies having corresponding read frequencies above a first threshold and a second set of dies of the plurality of dies having corresponding read frequencies below a second threshold;
- and
- relocate at least one of first data from the first set of dies or second data from the second set of dies, wherein the relocation causes the first set of dies to have subsequent corresponding read frequencies below the first threshold.
