Abstract
Provided herein are compositions and methods for treating, inhibiting and/or reducing the severity of cancer in subjects in need thereof. The methods include providing an agent that inhibits expression or activity of ONECUT2 and administering a therapeutically effective amount of the agent so as to treat, inhibit and/or reduce the severity of cancer in the subject.

A compound of Formula I:
- wherein:
- n is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5;
- X is NHC(O), C(O)NH, OC(O), C(O)O, C(O), or CH═N;
- Y is alkyl, heteroalkyl, cyclyl, heterocyclyl, aryl, or heteroaryl, each of which can be optionally substituted;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
A method for treating cancers that overexpress ONECUT2 in a subject in need thereof, comprising providing an agent that inhibits expression or activity of ONECUT2 and administering a therapeutically effective amount of the agent so as to treat cancers that overexpress ONECUT2 in the subject.
A compound represented by Formula IA:
- wherein
- Y is-CH(NH2)CH2OH, —CH2CH2NHC(O)CH3, —CH2C(O)NHOH,
- —C(O)CH(NH2)CH2OH, —NHC(O)CH(NH2)CH2OH, piperidinecarboxamide, piperidone, or N-hydroxybenzamide;
- and
- n is 1, 2, or 3;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
