Abstract
A surgical stapling attachment configured to clamp, staple, and cut tissue is disclosed. The surgical stapling attachment comprises an attachment portion, a shaft assembly, an articulation joint, and an end effector assembly. The end effector assembly comprises a firing system configured to cut tissue only after the tissue has been stapled.

1-20. (canceled)
A surgical system, comprising:
- a housing;
- an end effector;
- an elongate shaft extending between the housing and the end effector;
- a motor-driven firing drive comprising a firing driver movable through the end effector, wherein the firing driver is movable distally through a staple firing stroke and movable proximally through a retraction stroke;
- a manually-operated retraction actuator selectively actuatable to move the firing driver through at least a portion of the retraction stroke;
- a control circuit comprising a sensor to detect a position of said firing driver;
- and
- an electronic display communicatively coupled to the control circuit, wherein the electronic display comprises an indicator indicative of the position of the firing driver through the retraction stroke by the manually-operated retraction actuator.
