Printing system outputting a sheet on which charge removal processing is performed and control method therefor

A printing system including a printing unit configured to print an image on a sheet, a charge removal unit configured to perform charge removal processing on the sheet printed by the printing unit, and a plurality of sheet discharge trays, the printing system comprising:

• at least one memory storing a program;
• and
• at least one processor that, by execution of the stored program, is configured to operate as:
• an output control unit configured to output to each of the plurality of sheet discharge trays a sheet on which the charge removal processing is performed at a different one of a plurality of different charge removal bias values;
• a display control unit configured to display on a display unit a screen for a user to input a selection of one of a plurality of output results;
• and
• a storage control unit configured to store in a storage unit, as a parameter of the sheet, a charge removal bias value corresponding to the output result selected on the screen by the user.

A control method for a printing system including a printing unit configured to print an image on a sheet and a charge removal unit configured to perform charge removal processing on the sheet printed by the printing unit, the control method comprising the steps of:

• outputting the sheet on which the charge removal processing is performed at a predetermined charge removal bias value;
• displaying on a display unit a check screen indicating the predetermined charge removal bias value;
• receiving via the display unit an operation input by a user indicating whether the predetermined charge removal bias value is approved;
• storing in a storage unit the predetermined charge removal bias value as a parameter of the sheet in response to receiving an operation input by the user indicating that the predetermined charge removal bias value is approved;
• and
• performing control to output a sheet on which the charge removal processing is performed at a charge removal bias value different from the predetermined charge removal bias value in response to receiving an operation input by the user indicating that the predetermined charge removal bias value is not approved.
