A functionality for protection from ultraviolet radiation is integrated into the cover glass. A display element comprising:
- a display panel;
- a cover glass arranged above the display panel;
- and
- a functionality for protection from ultraviolet radiation integrated into the cover glass or a layer for protection from ultraviolet radiation arranged on a bottom surface of the cover glass facing the display panel.
