Novel pharmaceutical composition containing iron and meglumine

A compound comprising iron and meglumine having the following formula:

• (Fe)x·(O)y19 (OH)z·(H2O)m·(MGM)n·(L)k
• wherein “MGM” represents meglumine having molecular formula C7H17NO5;
• “L” represents a ligand selected from a group including carbohydrate, dextran, poly carbohydrate, sugar, dextrose, gluconic acid, derivatives of carbohydrates, substituted carbohydrates, anion, functionalized carbohydrates, starch, acid, base, amine, organic base, organic acid, organic amino compounds;
• “Fe” represents predominantly Ferric iron;
• “O” represents oxygen;
• “OH” represents hydroxy group;
• “H2O” represents water molecule;
• “x”, “y”, “z” and “n” are integers having a range from about 1 to about 200,000;
• “k” and “m” are integers having a range of from about 0 to about 200,000.
