A compound for use in the treatment and/or prevention of a kidney disease, wherein the compound has the general formula:
- or a salt, hydrate, solvate, metabolite, or prodrug thereof,
- wherein R is a residue comprising at least one aromatic 6-membered ring;
- wherein RA and RB are optionally substituted phenyls;
- and
- wherein RC is selected from the group consisting of H and C1-C6-alkyl.
