Abstract
A system and method for converting carbon dioxide into products by contacting the carbon dioxide with catalyst in the presence of hydrogen in a reactor.
Claims6
A system to convert carbon dioxide into products, comprising:
- a reactor comprising catalyst to convert carbon dioxide in presence of hydrogen into acetic acid, carbon monoxide, ethane, and ethylene, and discharge a product effluent comprising acetic acid, carbon monoxide, ethane, ethylene, water, and unreacted carbon dioxide;
- and
- a condenser to receive the product effluent and condense acetic acid and water, the condenser to discharge a liquid product stream comprising acetic acid and water and a gas product stream comprising carbon monoxide ethane, ethylene, and unreacted carbon dioxide, wherein the catalyst comprises oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) catalyst.
