Sensing and control of vehicle wash components and systems and methods thereof

A vehicle wash system comprising:

• a plurality of vehicle wash components at a vehicle wash location, each of the plurality of vehicle wash components comprising a processor integrated into an assembly of the vehicle wash component and configured to control an operational status of the vehicle wash component;
• at least one power source communicatively coupled to each of the processors of the plurality of vehicle wash components, the at least one power source configured to cause power to be individually transmitted to each of the plurality of vehicle wash components,
• wherein each of the processors of the plurality of vehicle wash components is configured to receive a first control signal for controlling operation of the vehicle wash component according to the first control signal, the first control signal from at least one of a car wash controller or from a communications gateway located at the vehicle wash location, and upon receipt of the first control signal, each processor interprets the first control signal, generates a separate, second control signal for controlling the operation of a respective vehicle wash component according to the second control signal that is different from the first control signal, and transmits the generated second control signal to a power source of the at least one power source such that the power source causes the power to be transmitted to the respective vehicle wash component to cause the operation of the respective vehicle wash component using the second control signal.

A car wash computer network, comprising:

• a plurality of communications gateways, each of the communications gateways located at separate vehicle wash locations;
• a plurality of vehicle wash components communicatively coupled to each communications gateway, each of the vehicle wash components comprising a processor integrated into an assembly of the vehicle wash component and configured to control an operational status of the vehicle wash component;
• and
• at least one power source at each of the separate vehicle wash locations, the at least one power source communicatively coupled to each of the processors of the plurality of vehicle wash components and configured to cause power to be individually transmitted to each of the plurality of vehicle wash components,
• wherein each of the processors of the plurality of vehicle wash components is configured to receive a first control signal for controlling operation of the vehicle wash component according to the first control signal, the first control signal from at least one of a car wash controller or from a respective communications gateway of the plurality of communications gateways, and upon receipt of the first control signal, each processor interprets the first control signal, generates a separate, second control signal for controlling the operation of a respective vehicle wash component according to the second control signal that is different from the first control signal, and transmits the generated second control signal to a power source of the at least one power source such that the power source causes the power to be transmitted to the respective vehicle wash component to cause the operation of the respective vehicle wash component using the second control signal.
