Abstract
An integrated energy system comprising a power plant including at least one nuclear reactor and an electrical power generation system a syngas generation system operably coupled to the power plant, the syngas generation system comprising a first reaction chamber configured to receive Sodium Formate (HCOONa), and a second reaction chamber configured to receive Sodium Oxalate ((COO)2Na2), and a methanol generation system operably coupled to the syngas generation system.

An integrated energy system comprising:
- a power plant including at least one nuclear reactor and an electrical power generation system;
- a syngas generation system operably coupled to the power plant, the syngas generation system comprising:
- a first reaction chamber configured to receive Sodium Formate (HCOONa), and
- a second reaction chamber configured to receive Sodium Oxalate ((COO)2Na2);
- and
- a methanol generation system operably coupled to the syngas generation system.
A syngas generation system comprising:
- a first reaction chamber configured to decompose Sodium Formate (HCOONa) into Sodium Oxalate ((COO)2Na2) and Hydrogen (H2) using first steam at a first temperature, and
- a second reaction chamber configured to decompose the Sodium Oxalate ((COO)2Na2) into Sodium Oxide (Na2O), Carbon Monoxide (CO), and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) using second steam at a second temperature.
A system for Carbon Dioxide (CO2) production, the system comprising:
- a small modular nuclear reactor (SMR) power plant system;
- a first reaction chamber configured to:
- receive Sodium Formate (HCOONa),
- receive first steam from the SMR power plant system, and
- produce Sodium Oxalate ((COO)2Na2);
- and
- a second reaction chamber configured to:
- receive the Sodium Oxalate ((COO)2Na2),
- receive second steam from the SMR power plant system, and
- produce Sodium Oxide (Na2O).
