Abstract
A gelling agent includes a water-swellable clay mineral in which ammonium group-modified organopolysiloxane represented by the following average composition formula (1) is incorporated in an interlayer space. (R31SiO1/2)a1(Rn2R3-n1SiO1/2)a2(R21SiO2/2)b(R1SiO3/2)c(SiO4/2)d (1) Thus, the gelling agent particularly thickens silicone oil to provide a gelled product that is stable over time.
