Filter for an equipment for washing laundry or textile items

A filter assembly for filtering a fluid used in a laundry or textile articles washing appliance, the filter assembly comprising:

• a filtering element-enclosing an inlet chamber adapted to receive the fluid;
• a housing-adapted to house the filtering element;
• an outlet chamber defined by a volume comprised between the filtering element and the housing for receiving filtered fluid resulting from passage of the fluid from the inlet chamber through a filtering surface of the filtering element;
• an inlet through which the fluid is supplied to the inlet chamber;
• an outlet fluidly connected to the outlet chamber, through which the filtered fluid exits the outlet chamber;
• a cleaning system located inside the inlet chamber operable to remove filtered contaminants from the filtering surface, the cleaning system comprising a scraper device operable to be rotated about a rotation axis for removing filtered contaminants from the filtering surface through mechanical interaction of the scraper device with the filtering surface during rotation of the scraper device, and for moving the removed filtered contaminants away from the inlet chamber;
• a collection region for collecting removed filtered contaminants moved away from the inlet chamber,
• wherein the filter assembly further comprises a position sensing system configured to sense the position of the scraper device along the rotation axis and provide a signal indicative of the sensed position.

A filter assembly for filtering a fluid used in a laundry or textile articles washing appliance, the filter assembly comprising:

• a filtering element-enclosing an inlet chamber adapted to receive the fluid;
• a housing-adapted to house the filtering element;
• an outlet chamber defined by a volume comprised between the filtering element and the housing for receiving filtered fluid resulting from passage of the fluid from the inlet chamber through a filtering surface of the filtering element;
• an inlet through which the fluid is supplied to the inlet chamber;
• an outlet fluidly connected to the outlet chamber, through which the filtered fluid exits the outlet chamber;
• a cleaning system located inside the inlet chamber operable to remove filtered contaminants from the filtering surface, the cleaning system comprising a scraper device operable to be rotated about a rotation axis for removing filtered contaminants from the filtering surface through mechanical interaction of the scraper device with the filtering surface during rotation of the scraper device, and for moving the removed filtered contaminants away from the inlet chamber;
• a collection region for collecting removed filtered contaminants moved away from the inlet chamber,
• wherein the scraper device is configured to compact the removed filtered contaminants in the collection region by pressing the removed filtered contaminants in the collection region along the rotation axis in a first direction during rotation of the scraper device, wherein the scraper device is movable by a pushing action of the collected removed filtered contaminants along the rotation axis in a second direction opposite to the first direction, and wherein the filter assembly further comprises a position sensing system configured to sense the position of the scraper device along the rotation axis and provide a signal indicative of the sensed position.
