Systems and Methods for a Connected Sump Pump

A system for monitoring a sump pump, the system comprising:

• a power adapter designed to send and receive data corresponding to the sump pump to an internet enabled user device, the power adapter including:
• a controller positioned within a housing, the controller establishing a wireless connection to a wireless network;
• and
• a receptacle designed to accept a float-switch input, wherein the float-switch input is in electrical communication with the controller.

A method for monitoring a sump pump, the method comprising:

• receiving power from a power source via a power adapter including a controller and a receptacle;
• establishing a wireless connection to a wireless network using the controller;
• monitoring a float-switch input electrically coupled to the receptacle to determine whether a fault has occurred using an integrated chip;
• and
• transmitting sump pump data via the wireless network when the fault occurs.
