Display device and manufacturing method thereof

A method of manufacturing a display device, the method comprising:

• forming a pixel circuit layer, a light emitting element layer, and an encapsulation layer on a mother substrate comprising a plurality of cell areas, wherein each of the cell areas comprises a display area and a peripheral area outside the display area;
• forming a pattern part in the peripheral area of each of the cell areas, wherein an upper surface of the pattern part has an uneven structure;
• forming a protective layer by providing a protective layer resin on the encapsulation layer and the pattern part of each of the cell areas;
• obtaining a plurality of display panels by cutting along cutting lines defined along edges of each of the cell areas;
• and
• removing the protective layer from each of the display panels.

An electronic device comprising:

• a display device;
• and
• a power supply configured to provide power to the display device,
• wherein the display device comprises:
• a substrate comprising a display area and a peripheral area outside the display area;
• a pixel circuit layer disposed in the display area on the substrate and comprising a thin film transistor and a plurality of insulating layers;
• a light emitting element layer disposed in the display area on the substrate and comprising a light emitting element electrically connected to the thin film transistor;
• an encapsulation layer disposed on the light emitting element layer;
• and
• a pattern part disposed in a portion of the peripheral area on the substrate, wherein an upper surface of the pattern part has an uneven structure.
