Display panel and method of manufacturing the same

A display panel, comprising:

• a driving element layer comprising a pixel driving part;
• a light emitting element disposed on the driving element layer and comprising:
• a first electrode;
• an intermediate layer disposed on the first electrode;
• and
• a second electrode disposed on the intermediate layer;
• a pixel definition layer disposed on the driving element layer and including a groove by removing a portion thereof in a thickness direction thereof;
• and
• a connection electrode disposed on the pixel definition layer and comprising a tip portion that protrudes from an end of the groove.

A method of manufacturing a display panel, comprising:

• preparing a preliminary display panel comprising:
• a base layer;
• a driving element layer disposed on the base layer;
• and
• a pixel definition layer disposed on the driving element layer;
• depositing a first connection electrode layer on the preliminary display panel;
• etching a portion of the first connection electrode layer and a portion of the pixel definition layer to form a groove overlapping the first connection electrode layer in the pixel definition layer;
• etching the first connection electrode layer to form a connection electrode;
• and
• forming an intermediate layer and a cathode on the connection electrode and the pixel definition layer.
