Abstract
Example communication methods and apparatus are described. In one example method, a first device generates an advertising message, and sends the advertising message to a second device. The advertising message includes first indication information, and the first indication information indicates a role expected by the first device. The role expected by the first device is a grant node or a terminal node.

A method, wherein the method comprises:
- generating, by a first device, an advertising message, wherein the advertising message comprises first indication information, the first indication information indicates a role expected by the first device, and the role expected by the first device is a grant node or a terminal node;
- and
- sending, by the first device, the advertising message to a second device.
A method, wherein the method comprises:
- receiving, by a second device, an advertising message from a first device, wherein the advertising message comprises first indication information, the first indication information indicates a role expected by the first device, and the role expected by the first device is a grant node or a terminal node.
A communication apparatus, comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- one or more memories coupled to the at least one processor and storing programming instructions for execution by the at least one processor to:
- generate an advertising message, wherein the advertising message comprises first indication information, the first indication information indicates a role expected by the communication apparatus, and the role expected by the communication apparatus is a grant node or a terminal node;
- and
- send the advertising message to a second device.
