Abstract
A method performed by an E2 node is provided. The method includes transmitting an E2 setup request message to a radio access network (RAN) intelligent controller (RIC), and receiving an E2 setup response message from the RIC, wherein the E2 setup request message includes an information element (IE) related to an RIC service update request message, and wherein the E2 setup response message includes an IE related to an RIC service update acknowledgement message.

A method performed by an E2 node, the method comprising:
- transmitting, to a radio access network, RAN, intelligent controller, RIC, an E2 setup request message including information on a list of one or more functions in E2 node to be added;
- and
- receiving, from the RIC, an E2 setup response message including information related to the list of one or more functions in E2 node to be added.
A method performed by an RIC, the method comprising:
- receiving, from an E2 node, an E2 setup request message including information on a list of one or more functions in E2 node to be added;
- and
- transmitting, to the E2 node, an E2 setup response message including information related to the list of one or more functions in E2 node to be added.
An apparatus functioning as an E2 node, the apparatus comprising:
- at least one transceiver;
- at least one processor coupled with the at least one transceiver;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:
- transmit, to a radio access network, RAN, intelligent controller, RIC, an E2 setup request message including information on a list of one or more functions in E2 node to be added;
- and
- receive, from the RIC, an E2 setup response message including information related to the list of one or more functions in E2 node to be added.
An apparatus functioning as an RIC, the apparatus comprising:
- at least one transceiver;
- at least one processor coupled with the at least one transceiver;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:
- receive, from an E2 node, an E2 setup request message including information on a list of one or more functions in E2 node to be added;
- and
- transmit, to the E2 node, an E2 setup response message including information related to the list of one or more functions in E2 node to be added.
