Image encoding/decoding method and device, and recording medium on which bitstream is stored

An image encoding method, comprising:

• deriving a motion vector of a current block based on a merge inter mode, wherein the motion vector of the current block includes a first motion vector in a first direction and a second motion vector in a second direction, the first motion vector is derived based on a first inter prediction mode, and the second motion vector is derived based on a second inter prediction mode;
• generating a first prediction block and a second prediction block of the current block based on the first motion vector and the second motion vector, respectively;
• and
• generating a prediction block of the current block based on at least one of the first prediction block or the second prediction block.

A computer-readable storage medium storing a bitstream generated by an image encoding method, the image encoding method comprising:

• deriving a motion vector of a current block based on a merge inter mode, wherein the motion vector of the current block includes a first motion vector in a first direction and a second motion vector in a second direction, the first motion vector is derived based on a first inter prediction mode, and the second motion vector is derived based on a second inter prediction mode;
• generating a first prediction block and a second prediction block of the current block based on the first motion vector and the second motion vector, respectively;
• and
• generating a prediction block of the current block based on at least one of the first prediction block or the second prediction block.
