Abstract
Embodiments of the present disclosure describe methods, apparatuses, storage media, and systems for mapping a phase-tracking reference signal to resource elements. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Claims20
A base station, comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- one or more processors, coupled to the memory, and configured to:
- determine whether a resource element (RE) is to be used for a non-zero power (NZP) channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS);
- in response to determining that the RE is not to be used for the NZP CSI-RS:
- determine that the RE can be used for a phase tracking-reference signal (PT-RS);
- and
- transmit the PT-RS using RE;
- and
- in response to determining that the RE is to be used for the NZP CSI-RS:
- determine a type of the NZP CSI-RS;
- determine whether the RE can be used for the PT-RS based on the type of the NZP CSI-RS;
- and
- transmit the PT-RS using the RE based on the type of the NZP CSI-RS.

A method, comprising:
- determining whether a resource element (RE) is to be used for a non-zero power (NZP) channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS);
- in response to determining that the RE is not to be used for the NZP CSI-RS:
- determining that the RE can be used for a phase tracking-reference signal (PT-RS);

- transmitting the PT-RS using the RE;

- in response to determining that the RE is to be used for the NZP CSI-RS:
- determining a type of the NZP CSI-RS;
- determining whether the RE can be used for the PT-RS based on the type of the NZP CSI-RS;

- transmitting the PT-RS using the RE based on the type of the NZP CSI-RS.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium (CRM) comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a base station (BS), cause the BS to:
- determine whether a resource element (RE) is to be used for a non-zero power (NZP) channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS);
- in response to determining that the RE is not to be used for the NZP CSI-RS:
- determine that the RE can be used for a phase tracking-reference signal (PT-RS);
- and
- transmit the PT-RS using the RE;

- in response to determining that the RE is to be used for the NZP CSI-RS:

- determine whether the RE can be used for the PT-RS based on the type of the NZP CSI-RS;
