Abstract
An ultra-wide band dipole antenna assembly for transmitting or receiving electromagnetic signals is disclosed herein. The antenna assembly comprises a dipole antenna element and coplanar waveguide feeding network. The dipole antenna delivers the ultra-wide band matching through a pre-determined arrangement after the coplanar waveguide feeding network is applied.

An ultra-wide band dipole antenna assembly for transmitting or receiving electromagnetic signals, the ultra-wide band dipole antenna assembly comprising:
- a first quarter wavelength conductor element having a semi-cylindrical shape;
- a second quarter wavelength conductor element having a semi-cylindrical shape and comprising a main body with a first collar and a second collar extending from the main body;
- and
- a coplanar strip line connected on a first end to the first quarter wavelength conductor element;
- wherein a coplanar waveguide feeding network is formed from the first quarter wavelength conductor element, the second quarter wavelength conductor element with the first collar and the second collar, and the coplanar strip line.
