Abstract
An air conditioning system includes a vapor compression cycle having a plurality of components including a compressor and at least one heat exchanger. A heat transfer fluid is configured to circulate within the vapor compression cycle. An energy storage device is selectively operable to supply power to one of the plurality of components of the vapor compression cycle. A cooling system is associated with the energy storage device. The cooling system is a geothermal cooling system and a ground near the energy storage device is a heat sink configured to absorb heat from the energy storage device.
Claims19
An air conditioning system comprising:
- a vapor compression cycle having a plurality of components including a compressor and at least one heat exchanger, and a heat transfer fluid is configured to circulate within the vapor compression cycle;
- an energy storage device selectively operable to supply power to one of the plurality of components of the vapor compression cycle;
- and
- a cooling system associated with the energy storage device, wherein the cooling system is a geothermal cooling system and a ground near the energy storage device is a heat sink configured to absorb heat from the energy storage device.
An air conditioning system comprising:
- a vapor compression cycle having a plurality of components including a compressor and at least one heat exchanger, and a heat transfer fluid is configured to circulate within the vapor compression cycle;
- an energy storage device selectively operable to supply power to one of the plurality of components of the vapor compression cycle;
- and
- a cooling system associated with the energy storage device, wherein the cooling system includes a heat exchanger, an ambient atmosphere surrounding the heat exchanger being operable to remove heat from the energy storage device.
