Positioning system and method

A system, comprising a first global navigation satellite system (GNSS) antenna, an in-vehicle communication apparatus, a controller, and one or more memories, wherein:

• the first GNSS antenna is connected to the in-vehicle communication apparatus, and the controller is connected to the in-vehicle communication apparatus;
• the first GNSS antenna is configured to:
• obtain satellite data;
• and
• transmit the satellite data to the in-vehicle communication apparatus;
• the one or more memories store first programming instruction for execution by the in-vehicle communication apparatus to:
• determine first positioning information based on at least one of the satellite data or first inertia measurement unit (IMU) data;
• and
• transmit the satellite data to the controller;
• and
• the one or more memories store second programming instructions for execution by the controller to determine second positioning information based on the satellite data and second IMU data, wherein precision of the second positioning information is higher than precision of the first positioning information.
