Abstract
There is provided a method for increasing the bulk density of low bulk density materials by gently admixing a low bulk density material and a liquid and thereafter removing substantially all of the liquid, for example, by evaporation.
Claims12
A method for increasing the bulk density of fumed silica comprising:
- (A) adding an liquid to a low bulk density fumed silica material dropwise or via spraying;
- (B) gently mixing said low bulk density material and said liquid for an amount of time effective to decrease the volume of the original low bulk density material while maintaining the homogeneity of the low bulk density material;
- and
- (C) removing substantially all of said liquid so as to provide a material having an increased bulk density.
