Abstract
A vehicle-based, automated pizza-making system including a two-piece pizza pan conveyed between pizza-making components on a series of pan drive rails. The two-piece pizza pan can include a base and a removable ring for containing the unfinished pizza and toppings. The rails can include timing belts for conveying the two-piece pizza pan through the system with improved positional control and accuracy.
Claims24
A finishing system for an automated pizza system, comprising:
- a movable pizza support, comprising;
- an upper member including a first opening defined by an inner wall;
- a lower member including a support surface;
- wherein movement of the upper member relative to the lower member engages a pizza located in the first opening with the inner wall of the first opening and slides the pizza across the support surface of the lower member from a first station to a second station;
- wherein the upper member moves the first opening through a plurality of stations through rotational or linear movement;
- wherein the upper member comprises a first disc and the lower member comprises a second disc;
- wherein the upper member moves the first opening through a plurality of stations through rotational or linear movement;
- and
- a first station further comprising:
- a movable pizza support including an upper surface configured to support the pizza, the movable pizza support configured to align the upper surface with the support surface of the lower member within the first opening of the upper member;
- wherein the movable pizza support includes a pizza pan and a lift, the pizza pan including the upper surface and the lift configured to raise the upper surface into alignment with the support surface in a raised configuration;
- wherein the lower member includes a first aperture at the first station, the upper member configured to move to align the first opening with the first aperture at the first station, and the movable pizza support configured to extend into the first aperture;
- wherein the movable pizza support comprises a two-piece pizza pan including a ring and a base and the first station further comprises:
- a ring removal assembly including an actuatable gripper, the actuatable gripper configured to remove a ring of the two-piece pizza pan;
- and
- a second station, comprising:
- a first slicer, the first slicer including a plurality of blades and configured to actuate vertically to slice the pizza contained in the first opening of the upper member;
- a third station includes a glaze dispenser disposed above the upper member and configured to apply a glaze to the pizza;
- a fourth station comprises a boxing system for placing the pizza in a pizza box, including:
- a box bottom delivery system including:
- a box bottom hopper configured to store a plurality of box bottoms in a stacked configuration;
- and
- an elevator movable between a raised configuration and a lowered configuration;
- wherein the box bottom hopper is configured to release a box bottom onto the elevator and the raised configuration of the elevator is configured to aligned an upper surface of the box bottom with the support surface of the lower member such that movement of the upper member relative to the lower member can slide the pizza located in the first opening onto the upper surface of the box member.
21 more elements
A finishing system for an automated pizza system, comprising:
- an upper member including a first opening defined by an inner wall;
- a lower member including a support surface;
- wherein movement of the upper member relative to the lower member engages a pizza located in the first opening with the inner wall of the first opening and slides the pizza across the support surface of the lower member from a first station to a second station.
