Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a 5G or a 6G communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4G communication system such as LTE. The disclosure provides a method and an apparatus for selecting bits to be adaptively extra-frozen according to a message length to use a polar code in a wireless communication system.
Claims16
A method for encoding a channel in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- determining a length of a mother code based on a length of at least one information bit to be transmitted and a target code rate;
- determining, based on the length of the at least one information bit, at least one frozen bit to not transmit information among first bits included in an input source vector corresponding to the mother code;
- allocating the at least one information bit to at least one second bit except for the determined at least one frozen bit among the first bits included in the input source vector;
- and
- generating a codeword by encoding, into a predetermined polar code, the input source vector to which the at least one information bit is allocated.
An apparatus for encoding a channel in a wireless communication system, the apparatus comprising:
- a transceiver;
- and
- at least one processor operably coupled to the transceiver, the at least one processor configured to:
- determine a length of a mother code, based on a length of at least one information bit to be transmitted and a target code rate;
- determine, based on the length of the at least one information bit, at least one frozen bit to not transmit information among first bits included in an input source vector corresponding to the mother code;
- allocate the at least one information bit to at least one second bit except for the determined at least one frozen bit among the first bits included in the input source vector;
- and
- generate a codeword by encoding, into a predetermined polar code, the input source vector to which the at least one information bit is allocated.
