Abstract

A method to restrict the use of a tool device, the tool device being a battery pack, a power tool, or a charger of a power tool system. The method includes the steps of: assigning the tool device to a first area and/or to a first wireless network, particularly by an asset management system, locating the tool device in a first area and/or registering the tool device to a first wireless network, determining whether the tool device is in the first area and/or connected to and/or connectable to the first wireless network, disabling or limiting the operation of the tool device if the result of the determining is that the tool device is not in the first area and/or not connected to and/or not connectable to the first wireless network.
