Abstract
The communication method provided in this application includes: First, an application function network element receives first area information from a first network element, where the first area information indicates an area not supporting MBS in an MBS service area; and the application function network element transmits, in a unicast mode based on the first area information, data to a terminal device located in the area not supporting MBS in the MBS service area.

A communication method, wherein the method comprises:
- receiving, by an application function network element, first area information from a first network element, wherein the first area information indicates an area not supporting MBS in an MBS service area;
- and
- transmitting, by the application function network element in a unicast mode based on the first area information, data to a terminal device located in the area not supporting MBS in the MBS service area.
A communication method, wherein the method comprises:
- obtaining, by a first network element, first area information, wherein the first area information indicates an area not supporting MBS in an MBS service area;
- and
- sending, by the first network element, the first area information to an application function network element.
A communication apparatus, comprising:
- at least one processor coupled with a non-transitory storage medium storing executable instructions;
- wherein the executable instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
- receive first area information from a first network element, wherein the first area information indicates an area not supporting MBS in an MBS service area;
- and
- transmit, in a unicast mode based on the first area information, data to a terminal device located in the area not supporting MBS in the MBS service area.
A communication apparatus, comprising:
- at least one processor coupled with a non-transitory storage medium storing executable instructions;
- wherein the executable instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
- obtain, first area information, wherein the first area information indicates an area not supporting MBS in an MBS service area;
- and
- send, the first area information to an application function network element.
