Abstract
The present application relates to an electrode comprising a current collector and an active material layer, which can provide an electrode capable of securing a high level of adhesion force between particles and adhesion force between the active material layer and the current collector relative to the content of binder in the active material layer. The present application can also provide a use of the electrode.
Claims15
An electrode, comprising:
- a current collector;
- and
- an active material layer on one or both sides of the current collector,
- wherein the active material layer comprises an electrode active material and a particulate binder,
- wherein a ratio (A/W) of an area ratio (A) of an occupied region of the binder on the current collector relative to a binder content (W) in the active material layer is 17 or more, which is confirmed according to the following standard peel test, and
- wherein a ratio of a height of the occupied region of the binder relative to an average particle diameter of the particulate binder is 0.5 or more:
- Standard peel test:
- a process of attaching a Scotch Magic Tape Cat. 810R on the active material layer, and then peeling off it is repeated until no component of the active material layer is observed on the Scotch Magic Tape Cat. 810R.
