Abstract
The present invention includes a novel illuminated ornamental display, and in particular a helium-free balloon coupled with an a externally mounted lighting assembly. In this preferred embodiment, the helium-free balloon and lighting assembly provide the appearance of a holiday ornament, and in particular a hanging Christmas tree ball ornament.

An ornamental assembly comprising;
- a display;
- an inflation assembly secured with an inflation aperture on said display;
- a housing securing a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) responsive to a controller;
- and
- wherein the housing is secured adjacent to the surface of said display by the inflation assembly such that light from the LEDs is projected into the internal compartment of the display.

An illuminated ornamental assembly comprising;
- a display;
- an inflation assembly comprising:
- an insert having a hollow aperture secured within an inflation aperture on said display;
- a plug;
- a collar securable to the insert;
- a housing securing a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) responsive to a controller;
- and
- wherein the housing is secured adjacent to the surface of said display by the inflation assembly such that light from the LEDs is projected into the internal compartment of the display.
