Abstract
Casino monetary systems and methods of processing casino monetary transactions are configured to read or scan an ID of a customer associated with a monetary value transaction, to transmit that ID information to a remote authentication vendor for authentication, to then use that authentication information as part of a transaction approval process and to create a transaction record, such as relative to an anti-money laundering (AML) system.
Claims20
A casino monetary system configured to authenticate patron IDs and use authentication results, comprising:
- a casino cash system comprising a processor, a memory, at least one user input device, a display, a communication interface and machine-readable code stored in said memory and executable by said processor and a communication interface;
- an ID scanner communicatively coupled to said cash system via said communication interface thereof, said ID scanner configured to accept input of a patron ID and to generate ID information based on said input;
- a cash dispenser;
- a records server comprising a processor, a memory, a communication interface and machine-readable code stored in said memory thereof and executable by said processor thereof;
- said machine-readable code of said cash station configured to cause said processor thereof to, upon receiving said ID information, to transmit said ID information via said communication interface thereof to a remote vendor authentication system for analysis of the ID information to verify the authenticity of the patron ID, to receive ID authentication results and, when said patron ID is not authenticated, transmit said ID authentication results to said records server;
- and
- said machine-readable code of said records server configured to create an ID record for said ID in response to receiving said ID authentication results and, in response to a later presentation of said patron ID to said casino cash system, deny a transaction associated therewith.
A method of validating patron IDs and tracking validation results as part of casino monetary value transactions, comprising the steps of:
- receiving a patron ID;
- generating ID information associated with said ID using at least one ID reader associated with a cash system comprising a processor, a memory, at least one user input device, a display, a communication interface and machine-readable code stored in said memory and executable by said processor;
- transmitting said ID information to a remote vendor authentication system for authentication of said patron ID;
- obtaining an ID authentication response from said remote vendor authentication system;
- when said authentication response indicates that said patron ID is not authentic, transmitting, from said cash system to a records server comprising a processor, a memory, a communication interface and machine-readable code stored in said memory thereof and executable by said processor thereof, said ID authentication response;
- storing, at said records server, said received ID authentication response in association with an ID record;
- receiving, at said records server, information regarding said patron ID associated with a monetary value transaction;
- and
- generating, at said records server based upon said ID record indicating said ID is not authentic, a transaction denial.
