Abstract
A content-dependent delta between a first content-dependent feature of a first data segment and a second content-dependent feature of a second data segment is determined by a storage system controller. The content-dependent delta and an indicator of the first data segment is stored in one or more storage devices.

A storage system comprising:
- a plurality of storage devices;
- and
- a storage system controller, operatively coupled to the plurality storage devices, the storage system controller configured to:
- determine a content-dependent delta between a first content-dependent feature of a first data segment and a second content-dependent feature of a second data segment;
- and
- store the content-dependent delta and an indicator of the first data segment in one or more of the plurality of storage devices.

- determining, by a storage system controller, a content-dependent delta between a first content-dependent feature of a first data segment and a second content-dependent feature of a second data segment;

- storing the content-dependent delta and an indicator of the first data segment in one or more of a plurality of storage devices.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a processing device of a storage system controller to:
- determine a content-dependent delta between a first content-dependent feature of a first data segment and a second content-dependent feature of a second data segment;
