Source code level chaos injection

A computer-implemented method associated with an enterprise computing environment infrastructure, comprising:

• receiving, at a computer processor of a chaos testing tool from a chaos testing user, injection information associated with an element of the enterprise computing environment infrastructure;
• accessing a chaos engineering fault parameter from a chaos testing tool data store;
• automatically arranging to inject a chaos engineering fault into operation of the element of the enterprise computing environment infrastructure in accordance with the injection information and the chaos fault parameter;
• measuring a response of the element of the enterprise computing environment infrastructure subsequent to said injection;
• and
• outputting an indication of the measured response to the chaos testing user.

A non-transitory, machine-readable medium comprising instructions thereon that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to execute operations to perform a method associated with an enterprise computing environment infrastructure, the method comprising:

• receiving, at a computer processor of a chaos testing tool from a chaos testing user, injection information associated with an element of the enterprise computing environment infrastructure;
• accessing a chaos engineering fault parameter from a chaos testing tool data store;
• automatically arranging to inject a chaos engineering fault into operation of the element of the enterprise computing environment infrastructure in accordance with the injection information and the chaos fault parameter;
• measuring a response of the element of the enterprise computing environment infrastructure subsequent to said injection;
• and
• outputting an indication of the measured response to the chaos testing user.
