Media content item generation for a content sharing platform

A system comprising:

• a memory that stores instructions;
• and
• one or more processors configured by the instructions to perform operations comprising:
• receiving location information for accessing a list of location data for source data associated with a publisher of media content in a content sharing platform;
• generating a first video for a first location data in the list of location data by performing operations comprising:
• populating a template with data extracted from the source data corresponding to the first location data, wherein the template is in a vertical format;
• determining one or more regions of the template for which there is no extracted data available from the source data;
• retrieving media data stored with the template and comprising at least one logo or stock image for the publisher;
• populating the one or more regions of the template for which there is no extracted data available from the source data with the media data stored with the template and comprising the at least one logo or stock image for the publisher;
• and
• generating the first video from the populated template;
• and
• generating a media collection comprising the first video and at least a second video as part of a slide show.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions stored thereon that are executable by at least one processor to cause a system to perform operations comprising:

• receiving location information for accessing a list of location data for source data associated with a publisher of media content in a content sharing platform;
• generating a first video for a first location data in the list of location data by performing operations comprising:
• populating a template with data extracted from the source data corresponding to the first location data, wherein the template is in a vertical format;
• determining one or more regions of the template for which there is no extracted data available from the source data;
• retrieving media data stored with the template and comprising at least one logo or stock image for the publisher;
• populating the one or more regions of the template for which there is no extracted data available from the source data with the media data stored with the template and comprising the at least one logo or stock image for the publisher;
• and
• generating the first video from the populated template;
• and
• generating a media collection comprising the first video and at least a second video as part of a slide show.
