Abstract
Systems and methods for configuring a battery in response to accidents are described. In some embodiments, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include an Embedded Controller (EC), and a memory coupled to, or integrated into, the EC, where the memory comprises program instructions that, upon execution by the EC, cause the IHS to change a battery setting in response to a determination that the IHS suffered an accident.
Claims20
An Information Handling System (IHS), comprising:
- an Embedded Controller (EC);
- and
- a memory coupled to the EC, wherein the memory comprises program instructions that, upon execution by the EC, cause the IHS to change a battery setting in response to a determination that the IHS suffered an accident.
A memory device having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by a processor of an Information Handling System (IHS), cause the IHS to instantiate an Operating System (OS) configured to:
- receive an indication that the IHS suffered an accident;
- and
- in response to the accident, modify a battery parameter.
A method, comprising:
- determining, by an Embedded Controller (EC), that an Information Handling System (IHS) has suffered an accident;
- and
- in response to the determination, sending an indication, from the EC to a Battery Management Unit (BMU), to reduce a charging rate of a battery.
