Abstract
Disclosed is a polybutylene terephthalate composition, comprising polybutylene terephthalate (PBT); amorphous polymer, in which the amorphous polymer has a refractive index of at least 1.55, and does not comprise carbonate group; alkali metal carbonate and/or bicarbonate; optionally glass fiber; and optionally additives. This polybutylene terephthalate composition exhibits greatly enhanced LT, in the meantime, balanced other properties are retained comparing with polybutylene terephthalate composition without such carbonate and/or bicarbon.
Claims16
A polybutylene terephthalate composition, comprising:
- (A) a polybutylene terephthalate resin,
- (B) an amorphous polymer having a refractive index of at least 1.55 and having no carbonate group in the repeating units of the amorphous polymer, the refractive index is measured at 25° C. and wavelength of 589 nm according to ASTM D542,
- (C) an alkali metal carbonate and/or bicarbonate,
- (D) an optional glass fiber, and
- (E) an optional additive.
A method for improving laser transmittance of a polybutylene terephthalate composition comprising application of an alkali metal carbonate and/or bicarbonate.
