Abstract
A crane, in particular a rotating tower crane, including a crane boom from which a load-receiving means, such as load hooks, can be raised and lowered by means of a hoist rope. A detection device is provided for detecting the distance of the load-receiving means from the ground and/or from an object located below the load-receiving means.

A crane comprising:
- a crane boom from which a load-receiving means can be raised and lowered by means of a hoist rope;
- and
- a detection device provided on the load-receiving means for detecting the distance of the load-receiving means from the ground and/or from an object located below the load-receiving means.
