System And Method For Carbon Dioxide Removal By Direct Air Capture

A carbon capture vessel comprising:

• two or more intermodal containers connected end to end and sealed to define a first hollow interior and configured to receive an air flow, comprising:
• an open container first end;
• a selectively openable container second end opposite the open container first end;
• and
• a first sidewall extending along a first longitudinal axis of the connected intermodal containers between the open container first end and the selectively openable container second end of the connected intermodal containers;
• a plurality of sorbent material subcontainers disposed within the first hollow interior of the connected intermodal containers and configured to receive the air flow, wherein a set of the plurality of sorbent material subcontainers is structurally supported by a frame and positioned axially within the connected intermodal containers and each sorbent material subcontainer in the set is coupled to a similarly positioned and structurally supported sorbent material subcontainer of another set, each coupled sorbent material subcontainer comprising:
• an open subcontainer first end;
• a second sidewall defining a second hollow interior and comprising apertures, openings, or perforations;
• and
• a closed subcontainer second end opposite the open subcontainer first end of the coupled sorbent material subcontainers;
• a sorbent material disposed around an exterior of the second sidewall of each sorbent material subcontainer;
• a plate disposed within the first hollow interior of the connected intermodal containers and configured to prevent air from entering either side of the first hollow interior or from exiting the other side of the first hollow interior without first passing through the sorbent material
• a fan disposed proximate the open container first end of the connected intermodal containers and configured to direct the air flow into or out of the open container first end of the connected intermodal containers;
• a plurality of pipes disposed inside each sorbent material subcontainer to direct a fluid flow therethrough;
• and
• at least one door, gate, or flap valve that selectively seals to prevent the fluid flow from exiting the open container first end.
