Abstract
A method includes positioning an imaging element relative to a patient tissue structure, establishing, by moving a robotic arm, registration between the imaging element and a surgical instrument held by the robotic arm, and conducting, using the surgical instrument, an intervention on the patient tissue structure while calculating an orientation of the surgical instrument relative to the patient tissue structure using the registration.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- positioning an imaging element relative to a patient tissue structure;
- establishing, by moving a robotic arm, registration between the imaging element and a surgical instrument held by the robotic arm;
- and
- conducting, using the surgical instrument, an intervention on the patient tissue structure while calculating an orientation of the surgical instrument relative to the patient tissue structure using the registration.

A system, comprising:
- an x-ray imaging device configured to image a patient tissue structure;
- a robotic arm;
- a surgical instrument supported by the robotic arm;
- and
- a controller for the robotic arm programmed to:
- establish registration between the surgical instrument and the x-ray imaging device using movement of the robotic arm;
- and
- calculate, during an intervention on the patient tissue structure using the surgical instrument, and orientation of the surgical instrument using the registration.
5 more elements
A method, comprising:
- imaging, with an x-ray device, a patient tissue structure while a surgical instrument held by a robotic arm is positioned relative to the patient tissue structure;
- establishing, by moving the robotic arm, registration between the x-ray device, the patient tissue structure, and the surgical instrument held by the robotic arm;
- and
- conducting, using the surgical instrument, an intervention on the patient tissue structure while calculating an orientation of the surgical instrument relative to the patient tissue structure using the registration.
