Abstract
Various aspects of the present disclosure are directed toward apparatuses, systems, and methods that include a ferroelectric article. The ferroelectric article may include a composite film having a first side and a second side, a first electrode electrically coupled to the first side of the composite film, and a second electrode electrically coupled to the second side of the composite film. The composite film may include a ferroelectric material and a polymeric reinforcement membrane.
Claims36
A ferroelectric article comprising:
- a. a composite film having a first side and a second side, the composite film comprising,
- i. a ferroelectric material, and
- ii. a polymeric reinforcement membrane;
- b. a first electrode electrically coupled to the first side of the composite film;
- and
- c. a second electrode electrically coupled to the second side of the composite film.
A method of making the ferroelectric article, the method comprising:
- providing a polymeric reinforcement membrane having a first side and a second size;
- the polymeric reinforcement membrane having microstructure of nodes interconnected by fibrils or having a microstructure of substantially only fibrils, the microstructure further
- defining a void volume defining a plurality of pores;
- applying a ferroelectric material to the polymeric reinforcement membrane whereby a reinforced ferroelectric composite is formed;
- attaching at least one first electrode to said first side;
- and
- connecting at least one second electrode to said second side;
- whereby a ferroelectric article is formed.
