Abstract
A method for an autonomous vehicle includes: controlling at least one system of the vehicle by a host system; automatically collecting, by a memory device, data generated by the at least one system, where the data is collected by the memory device independently of control by the host system; and storing the data in the memory device.

- non-volatile memory;
- and
- a controller configured to, in response to detecting a predetermined event, download data from volatile memory to the non-volatile memory.
A system comprising:
- memory configured to store an artificial neural network (ANN) model;
- and
- a controller configured to:
- use an output from the ANN model for controlling a vehicle;
- and
- update the ANN model in response to detection of a failure of the vehicle.

- receive, over the communication network from a vehicle, sensor data associated with detection of objects;
