Systems and methods for generating images of an automobile

A method for generating one or more images of an automobile, the method comprising:

• generating an artificial surface using the one or more images of the automobile;
• simulating reflections or shadows of the automobile on the artificial surface using one or more physical based rendering properties of the artificial surface;
• blending the artificial surface for the automobile with a real-world surface of the automobile to create a blended surface that comprises both the artificial surface and the real-world surface;
• and
• generating the one or more images of the automobile comprising the blended surface.

An article of manufacture for generating an image of an automobile, the article of manufacture including a non-transitory, tangible computer readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by a computer, cause the computer to perform operations comprising:

• generating an artificial surface using one or more images of the automobile;
• simulating reflections or shadows of the automobile on the artificial surface using one or more physical based rendering properties of the artificial surface;
• blending the artificial surface for the automobile with a real-world surface of the automobile to create a blended surface that comprises both the artificial surface and the real-world surface;
• and
• generating the image of the automobile, the image comprising the blended surface.
