Mobile check deposit system and method

A computing system for remotely depositing funds into a financial account, the computing system comprising:

• a network;
• a server operatively connected to the network;
• and
• a mobile device operatively connected to the network and associated with a first user associated with a first financial account, the mobile device comprising:
• a camera configured to detect a digital image;
• a biometric sensor configured to collect biometric data;
• and
• a processing unit configured to:
• cause an instruction to be presented on a display of the mobile device, the instruction requesting capture of an image illustrating a plurality of checks;
• receive, based at least in part on the instruction requesting the capture, the image;
• generate, based at least in part on object localization, a plurality of cropped images from the image, wherein each image of the plurality of cropped images illustrates a check of the plurality of checks;
• determine, based at least in part on biometric data collected via the mobile device, that a current user of the mobile device is a second user different from the first user;
• associate, based at least in part on determining that the current user is the second user, the plurality of checks with a second financial account of the second user;
• and
• transmit, to the server, and via the network, the plurality of cropped images and an identifier of the second financial account.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium including computer-readable instructions to be executed by one or more processors of a system for remotely depositing funds into a financial account, the instructions when executed causing the one or more processors to:

• cause an instruction to be presented on a display of a mobile device, the instruction requesting capture of an image illustrating a plurality of checks, the mobile device associated with a first user associated with a first financial account;
• receive, based at least in part on the instruction requesting the capture, the image;
• generate, based at least in part on object localization, a plurality of cropped images from the image, wherein each image of the plurality of cropped images illustrates a check of the plurality of checks;
• determine, based at least in part on biometric data collected via the mobile device, that a current user of the mobile device is a second user different from the first user;
• associate, based at least in part on determining that the current user is the second user, the plurality of checks with a second financial account of the second user;
• and
• transmit, to the server, via a network, the plurality of cropped images and an identifier of the second financial account.
