Abstract
The invention provides a tracer release system for releasing tracer into a well. The tracer release system comprises at least one tracer release apparatus. The apparatus comprises at least one tracer source reservoir comprising at least one tracer, at least one injection port configured to be in fluid communication with the well; and at least one controllable valve located between the at least one tracer source reservoir and the at least one injection port. The at least one controllable valve is configured to control an even release of the at least one tracer into the well for a desired duration and/or frequency.
Claims25
A tracer release system for releasing tracer into a well, comprising:
- at least one tracer release apparatus comprising;
- at least one tracer source reservoir comprising at least one tracer;
- at least one injection port configured to be in fluid communication with the well;
- and
- at least one controllable valve between the at least one tracer source reservoir and the at least one injection port;
- wherein the at least one controllable valve is configured to control an even release of the at least one tracer into the well for a desired duration and/or frequency.
A tracer release apparatus comprising;
- at least one tracer source reservoir comprising at least one tracer;
- at least one injection port in fluid communication with the well;
- and
- at least one controllable valve between the tracer reservoir and the at least one injection port;
- wherein the at least one controllable valve is configured to control an even release of the at least one tracer into the well for a desired duration and/or frequency.
A method of releasing at least one tracer into a well comprising;
- providing a tracer release system in a well, the tracer release system comprising at least one tracer release apparatus comprising:
- one or more tracer source reservoir comprising at least one tracer;
- at least one injection port in fluid communication with the well;
- at least one controllable valve between the one or more tracer source reservoir and the at least one injection port;
- and
- controlling the actuation of the at least one controllable valve to control the even release of tracer into the well for a desired duration and/or frequency.
