Abstract
A particulate fabric treatment composition (unitized or non-unitized format) that contains a chlorine scavenger is provided. The chlorine scavenger is a sugar amine such as, for example, glucosamine. The particulate fabric treatment composition (unitized or non-unitized format) can be used during the washing of fabrics to reduce or event problems associated with laundering of fabrics in a chlorine containing water source. Notably, the particulate fabric treatment composition (unitized or non-unitized format) can reduce or even eliminate dye deterioration.
Claims20
A particulate fabric treatment composition comprising:
- a blend of (a) a solid particulate carrier, (b) a fragrance component and (c) from about 0.01 percent by weight to about 10.0 percent by weight of a chlorine scavenger, wherein the percent by weight of (c) is based on a total weight of the composition and the chlorine scavenger is a sugar amine.
A unit dose fabric treatment product comprising:
- a pre-determined dose of a particulate fabric treatment composition encapsulated in a container, wherein the particulate fabric treatment composition comprises a blend of (a) a solid particulate carrier, (b) a fragrance component and (c) from about 0.01 percent by weight to about 10.0 percent by weight of a chlorine scavenger, wherein the percent by weight of (c) is based on a total weight of the composition, the chlorine scavenger is a sugar amine, and the container comprises a water-soluble polymer or water-dispersible polymer.
