Aqueous ink, ink cartridge and ink jet recording method

An ink jet recording method comprising ejecting an aqueous ink from an ink jet recording head to record an image on a recording medium.

• wherein the aqueous ink for comprises a first coloring material and a second coloring material,
• wherein the first coloring material is a compound represented by general formula (1),
• the second coloring material is a compound represented by general formula (2), and
• a proportion (% by mass) of a content of the second coloring material to a total content of the first coloring material and the second coloring material in the aqueous ink is 0.60% by mass or more,
• in general formula (1), R1 and R2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an alkoxy group, X1 represents a halogen atom, and M's each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, ammonium or organic ammonium, and
• in general formula (2), R3 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an alkoxy group, X2's each independently represent a halogen atom, n represents an integer of 1 or 2, and M's each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, ammonium or organic ammonium.
