Methods and apparatuses for drying electronic devices

A method, comprising:

• generating a first air flow through a first air channel connecting a drying chamber, an interior of a portable electronic device, an exterior of the portable electronic device, and a moisture-reducing device, wherein the drying chamber receives the portable electronic device rendered at least partially inoperable due to moisture intrusion into the interior of the portable electronic device;
• removing, using the first air flow, a first moisture from the interior of the portable electronic device to an exterior of the portable electronic device or the moisture-reducing device;
• determining a first humidity-based data associated with the first moisture removed from the interior of the portable electronic device to the exterior of the portable electronic device or the moisture-reducing device;
• removing, using the first air flow, the first moisture or a second moisture from the exterior of the portable electronic device to the moisture-reducing device;
• determining a second humidity-based data associated with the first moisture or the second moisture removed from the exterior of the portable electronic device to the moisture-reducing device;
• pausing the generating the first air flow through the first air channel based on the first humidity-based data and the second humidity-based data;
• indicating, using an indication device, at least one of the first humidity-based data associated with the first moisture removed from the interior of the portable electronic device to the exterior of the portable electronic device or the moisture-reducing device and the second humidity-based data associated with the first moisture or the second moisture removed from the exterior of the portable electronic device to the moisture-reducing device;
• and
• generating a second air flow through a second air channel connecting the moisture-reducing device and an evacuation channel, wherein the second air flow removes the first moisture, the second moisture, or a third moisture from the moisture-reducing device through the evacuation channel.

An apparatus, comprising:

• a drying chamber comprising an interior, wherein the interior is configured for placement and removal of an electronic device;
• a first air channel, wherein the first air channel connects the drying chamber and a moisture-reducing device;
• a second air channel, wherein the second air channel connects the moisture-reducing device and an evacuation channel;
• at least one controller connected to the moisture-reducing device, wherein the at least one controller is configured to:
• generate a first air flow through the first air channel,
• operate the moisture-reducing device to remove a first moisture from the interior of the electronic device to the moisture-reducing device, and
• generate a second air flow through the second air channel;
• a moisture-based sensor;
• and
• a computing device connected to the moisture-based sensor,
• wherein the computing device is configured to:
• determine a first humidity-based data associated with the first moisture removed from the electronic device to the moisture-reducing device or a second humidity-based data associated with a second moisture in the drying chamber,
• indicate the first humidity-based data associated with the first moisture removed from the electronic device to the moisture-reducing device or the second humidity-based data associated with the second moisture in the drying chamber, and
• provide instructions to the at least one controller to modify the generating the first air flow through the first air channel based on the first humidity-based data associated with the first moisture removed from the electronic device to the moisture-reducing device or the second humidity-based data associated with the second moisture in the drying chamber.
