Evolved prosthetic socket for upper limb prostheses

An upper limb modular prosthetic system (100), comprising:

• a mechanical artificial limb (120) able to perform operational functions and sensory functions, and
• a prosthetic socket (110) adapted to act as a connection between said mechanical artificial limb (120) and the stump (210) of the patient (200) to which said mechanical limb (120) must be connected;
• said mechanical artificial limb (120) having a physical interface (121) also prepared for
• acquiring at least one electrical signal suitable for controlling the operational functions of said mechanical artificial limb (120), and
• exposing at least one electrical signal capable of representing information about the state of said mechanical limb (120);
• and said prosthetic socket (110) being designed to house an electronic control module (150), also comprised in said upper limb modular prosthetic system (100);
• and said electronic control module (150) physically integrates together at least:
• a. a power supply battery (154) suitable for powering the whole of said prosthetic system (100),
• b. one inertial unit at least triaxial (158),
• c. one vibrating device (157),
• d. a physical interface (152) designed to acquire at least one electrical signal from said mechanical limb (120) and to present at least one electrical signal containing commands suitable for being transmitted to said mechanical limb (120),
• e. calculation means (155) and memory means (156) suitable for the execution of computer programs configured for
• i. the processing of signals inputted from said mechanical limb (120),
• ii. the processing of signals acquired by means of said inertial unit (158),
• iii. generating commands to activate said vibrating device (157) and
• iv. generating commands suitable for controlling the movement and functionalities of said mechanical limb (120).
